Shontaye Glover received her Master's degree in communication disorders from William Paterson University in NJ and completed her undergraduate study at Morgan State University in MD. She is a certified speech language pathologist and Founder of Having Our Say, LLC, a home-based private practice where she offers services for children with communication disorders. She publishes a monthly blog (by the same name) providing resources for professionals and parents to help improve language development in children. Her commitment to children has a global reach as Shontaye also serves as an executive board member for Smiles for Speech, Inc., a nonprofit that provides resources to children from disadvantaged communities across the globe. To date they have provided assistance in Cuba, Peru, Ghana, and Kenya. Shontaye’s commitment to promoting language development through literacy and increasing diversity in children’s lit has led to the completion of her first literary work. Shontaye made her debut as a children’s book author in 2020 with the release of "Liam’s First Cut." Written under the pen name of \“Taye Jones,\” Shontaye weaves together the beauty of family, community, and neurodiversity as Liam, an autistic Black boy, prepares for his first visit to the barbershop.
Shontaye is the founder and owner of Having Our Say LLC. She receives compensation from the products sold on her sites including the sale of her book “Liam’s First Cut.” Shontaye is receiving financial compensation from brIQht media, dba brIQht ideas, for this presentation, as well as a portion of the sales from the Equity Series conference.
