This course introduces a framework for anti-ableist, disability-informed care, grounded in the lived experience of a disabled speech-language pathologist with cerebral palsy.
Participants will examine the history and ongoing influence of ableism within clinical practice and education, as well as how these systems directly affect the individuals they serve. Through reflection and discussion, the course will offer practical tools for disrupting ableism, advocating for accessibility, and reimagining therapy as a practice that affirms and empowers disabled identities.
