Voz Speech Therapy opened its doors in 2018 in Washington, DC to serve culturally and linguistically diverse populations due to only 8.5% of ASHA constituents self-identifying as multilingual service providers. This course will discuss Dr. Jaramillo's entrepreneurial journey and how she successfully transitioned from employee to business owner by understanding her niche, marketing her services, hiring an incredible team, and overcoming challenges to build a thriving business. Voz Speech Therapy remains the only fully bilingual speech therapy practice in the DMV with plans to expand in the next few months.

Ana-Maria Jaramillo (pronouns: she/her/ella) is a bilingual pediatric SLP and the owner/founder of Voz Speech Therapy, the only fully bilingual private practice in the DMV. When she isn’t treating patients or teaching, Dr. Jaramillo is actively speaking at local high schools and offering webinars on ways to diversify and combat racism in the field of SLP with her organization, DiverCity SLP.
