This course will explore the personal experiences of individuals who stutter and the importance of connecting with the stuttering community. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of stuttering as a lived experience and how to provide respectful and compassionate support. This course emphasizes the importance of empathy and awareness in working with individuals who stutter.

  • Angelica Bernabe

    M.A. CF-SLP

    Angelica Bernabe is a speech and language pathologist, a person who stutters, and a PhD student at Florida State University. She is the director of Centro Especializado en Tartamudez, a stuttering center based in Peru. Angelica is dedicated to the training of professionals in the field of stuttering, having trained speech therapists in more than 30 countries. In 2022, she received the Clinician Award from the World Stuttering and Cluttering Organization. She provides monthly support groups in Spanish for parents through FRIENDS, an American association for children and young people who stutter. Angelica speaks Spanish, English, Portuguese, and is learning Dutch!
