This course is designed to provide a playful and enriching introduction to AAC techniques and strategies specifically tailored for new learners. Participants will explore various tools and methods that support communication development, with a focus on making learning fun and accessible. By using creative activities and hands-on demonstrations, participants will walk away with numerous resources that are easily accessible to all!

    Amy Prince and Amber Ladd are the co-founders of The TALK Team, a speech therapy practice and TALK ABA, Inc. located in Fresno, CA. They are both graduates of CSU Fresno and are both dually certified as Board Certified Behavior Analysts as well as Speech Language Pathologists. Amy is also certified as an educational advocate. Amy and Amber founded The TALK Team in 2006, and since that time, have worked diligently to provide high quality, specialized services to children with a variety of speech and language needs. TALK has now expanded into other areas of California including Visalia, Sacramento, and Santa Ynez. Their mission is creation of communication for all children, regardless of diagnosis or ability level. They provide training for Speech Pathologists, BCBA’s, OT’s and support personnel across the country.

1. Define AAC and its role in supporting communication development in young children.
2. Identify the benefits of early AAC implementation for language acquisition and social interaction.
3. Demonstrate practical methods to integrate AAC techniques into everyday interactions and play activities.
