The Role of Speech Language Pathologists Working in Self Contained Classrooms

The Role of Speech Language Pathologists Working in Self Contained Classrooms

Working in the school-based setting with self-contained students can be a challenging task for speech-language pathologists (SLPs) without guidance and experience. SLPs must establish rapport with students, teachers, paraprofessionals and parents in order to gain the trust needed to form a collaborative relationship. This seminar offers a 10-step process/framework that SLPs can utilize as they organize and prepare to work in with speech students and school team members (classroom teachers, para-professionals and parents) the self-contained setting.
