Thinking Outside the “Box” Applying our Clinical Skills in Dyslexia Interventions

Thinking Outside the “Box” Applying our Clinical Skills in Dyslexia Interventions

As Speech Language Pathologists, when we hear the term dyslexia, we don’t often consider our role for effective instruction. In this session we will discuss how vital our roles are as SLPs/SLPAs, and how important it is for us to think outside of the “box”. Attendees will explore the scope of practice in speech language pathology as it applies to structured literacy and individuals with dyslexia. Participants will also learn about evidence-based intervention techniques and approaches to effectively manage dyslexia. Discussion will also focus on how to incorporate principles of structured literacy in your current speech and language treatment plans.
