This engaging two-part webinar is crafted for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and special educators working with autistic students or intellectual disabilities who have complex communication needs. Through practical strategies and collaborative planning, this course will empower you to create a communication-rich academic environment that meets educational standards while addressing the unique needs of your students.
In Part 1, we’ll explore strategies that support communication throughout the school day and across content areas.
Part 2 provides a focused look at alternative systems of communication and core vocabulary in action. We’ll conduct a hands-on case study activity, where participants will apply strategies to develop communication-rich learning plans that align with educational standards.
Participants will also have the opportunity to assess and design activities tailored to individual students’ needs, encouraging collaboration across disciplines and helping SLPs and educators work together to support complex learners effectively.
