Session 3: Strengths-Based Intervention & Carryover

In this 30-minute session, participants will learn how to design and deliver speech therapy intervention that builds on each child’s strengths, interests, and personal goals.

We will discuss how to create therapy activities that are motivating, functional, and rooted in real-life contexts, as well as strategies for embedding skills into classroom routines and home life. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration with families, educators, and the child to ensure therapy remains relevant and meaningful. Participants will explore how to measure progress beyond standardized scores, capturing growth in self-advocacy, engagement, and confidence.

    MS CCC-SLP

    Erin Milewski has been a Speech-Language Pathologist for the last 9 years. She earned both her Bachelor's in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Marywood University. She also earned my Trauma-Informed Practice Certificate from Elizabethtown College in May 2023. She currently works as an SLP in a public school in Pennsylvania, and as a subcontractor for Lingua Speech, Swallow, and Voice Services.
