This course will be live on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 5 pm Eastern Time. Replays will follow immediately and will be available through Aug. 15, 2026.
This session takes a closer look at the science of motor learning and its application to speech intervention.
Participants will build foundational knowledge of motor learning theory, examine the factors that influence skill acquisition and long-term retention, and explore how practice structure, feedback, and treatment decisions can impact outcomes. Through clinical examples and guided reflection, attendees will consider how a motor learning framework can inform intervention planning for children with speech sound disorders, including motor speech disorders.
By the end of the session, participants will be better equipped to evaluate their current therapy practices and make evidence-informed decisions that promote meaningful, lasting speech change.
